Why Personal Branding is Awesome and Watching Football Isn’t

by Ryan Rancatore on November 23, 2009

Being a sports fan can be rough. You are so invested in the outcome, but have zero control over the results. Building a personal brand is just the opposite – you’re in complete control.

This is my first effort at “vlogging”. All feedback is welcomed!

We're in an interactive world and the proof is a fact that many football fans pay attention to their fantasy team more than their favorite NFL team. Will we be paying more attention to social media more than traditional media in a few years because it is so much more interactive? If so, I'll draft you first Ryan.
  • Let's just hope I don't turn out like Alex Smith if you draft me
first....! Great point about fantasy teams. I suspect folks enjoy
fantasy football so much b/c it does give them some level of control.
    Interesting.

I liked the video! Vlogging is hard, I also post vlogs on my blog. You did a great job! It gets easier as you go.
  • Appreciate the support, LoudPen! I checked out your blog to pick up a few
tips...what do you think, maybe I'll get a few more page views if I come up
with a personal branding rap? Probably not worth the utter humiliation. :-)
